You No Suke Salon
Website copy for a new Tokyo hair salon
THE DESIGN OPPORTUNITY
Yuni, the owner of a new Tokyo hair salon, approached me to translate his salon’s current mission statement into something that would resonate with and attract English-speaking foreigners in Japan.
BEFORE
Vision
We contribute our society more fulfilled with sense of satisfaction by preparing spaces to make people's time more valuable and exciting.

Mission
We contiune bringing a little happiness to all the customers with or without scissors.

Value
We do everything we can to solve and be considerate of customer's feelings with one's ownership.
Establish a culture for everybody to support each other to grow at work having a heart to respect and help each other.
We keep challenging and never be satisfied with where you are at to produce ideas to thrill the society.
PROCESS
Yuni needed a fast turnaround, so I interviewed him about his vision for his new company to understand the intent behind his Vision, Mission, and Value statements before rewriting them into English-native copy for his website.
From talking with Yuni, I could feel how much he cares about his customers and how he sees his purpose is to take care of people by taking care of their hair.
V1
Our salon is your space
I believe a salon can be more than a place for hair.
Our place in Harajuku is new. Our place has history. Whether you’re a local or just in Tokyo for the weekend, our salon belongs to you while you’re here, and you belong in our salon. Use You No Suke as a place to connect to yourself, a place to unwind, a place for self-care, and a place for self-expression. It’s a place to prepare for your first date, your next interview, your last day. It’s a place to feel heard, and a place to sit in silence. It’s a place to feel beautiful; a place where you get what you need. You No Suke is a salon where you feel more you.
My name is Yuni and my gift to the world is to take care of people. I do that best through this salon, where I’ve curated every detail for your comfort and renewal. Come in and let your hair down.
···
V1 conveys the idea that separates Yuni from other stylists, but it's a bit wordy and needs tightening.
