Creatures of Their Own Illumination
An odd shape for a painting at 24" x 10" x 2" this acrylic on raw canvas piece is actual perfect for an otherwise forgotten wall. In a lovely poem called "Bioluminescence," Paul Tran writes,
[..] I found myself without meaning
to, without contriving meaning at the time, in time, in the company
of creatures who, hideous like me, had to be their own illumination.
Thank you, Paul Tran for the inspiration behind this title and to Pádraig Ó Tuama for introducing me to Paul Tran's work reprinted in Poetry Unbound: 50 Poems to Open Your World. 🎩
